We organised the fifth Langwith Show on Sat 3rd September. It takes place on the adjacent Rec ground and on our site. We have a traditional Produce Show with 56 classes in a big marquee, a Fun Dog Show, lots of craft and bric-a-brac and public health stalls, archery, brass band, rock band, bouncy castles, pizzas from our outdoor ovens and lots more. It gives our village a great community event and people look forward to it. Sadly this year it rained a lot and so some people stayed away, but even so it was a lovely event. 39 volunteers ran it and made it the usual success.
We also had two corporate days in September for DWP Job Centre workers. Our good relationship with DWP means we can easily get support for some of our volunteers who struggle with benefits sanctions and pressure to apply for jobs when they might be illiterate or suffering with their mental or physical ill health.
