Community Fund – Garden Gate Project – December Update

Happy New Year from The Garden Gate Project!

December was a busy month and we all definitely entered into the festive spirit… From the end of November we were getting creative and making lots of Christmas goodies…

We hosted bauble decorating sessions, a wreath making workshop, the pottery group got busy making tree decorations and our apprentice, Joe learnt some new wood working skills and made some fantastic Reindeer’s.

This year we were fortunate enough to be offered the opportunity to raise some funds for the garden by selling our handmade wares at the ‘Dreamland’ Frosted Fairground and at the ‘Margate W.I.’ Christmas makers fair.

The atmosphere at the garden was very jolly and we enjoyed some beautiful weather considering the time of year.  On the 22nd December we all had Christmas dinner together in the polytunnel, with over 40 guests from the community including volunteers, learning disability and mental health service users, trustees and staff.

Thank you for your support, it goes a long way to help us continue to deliver activities at the garden which are enjoyed fully by our local community.

Best wishes for 2016
